Short notice, but I'll be there. Where is the end portal?

As we're about 6 months in on this iteration, before starting a new big project figured I should check in to see if there is a plan to restart or such? Vanilla/modded/whatever etc

Middea, at 6 months in I couldn't recommend starting something big. It's probably a good time for a restart. I'm all for it!

A restart seems reasonable to me as well, if the folks who are playing are ok with it!

Are there any big Minecraft updates coming soon that would make it worth waiting a couple more weeks?

Apparently not Flash. According to PCGamer: "There isn't a release date for Minecraft 1.21 just yet, but it's expected to arrive in the middle of 2024. That tracks with recent years. Minecraft 1.20 and 1.19 both launched in June of their respective years."

So we're probably at a good time to put up a new map.

So was playing around. And used theville as a seed. Looks pretty doable as a decent map. Starts out in a oak forest with old growth spruce, a damaged nether portal close by. And a shipwreck.

Reset? I'm in, dont forget to build a Christmas Tree right away at spawn

OK, I'll plan to do the reset tomorrow morning (Friday, 12/22) before noon central.
