Are you for or against a reset of TV5 the Minecraft Server?
With the 1.8 update being released in early September we want to know your thoughts on if we should or should not reset the server.
Besides your vote please feel free to comment on why you feel we should or should not reset the server when 1.8 is released.
Thanks

I would definitely start back again with a new map, especially with all the new goodies coming. I kinda ran out of things I wanted to do in the current map.
As long as there's sufficient time for folks to finish up what they're working on, I'm all for a reset!

I agree with Plinko.
Let's start fresh with the updated materials in ALL the biomes.

The gap between the 1.8 release and our normal end-of-year (Halloweenish?) reset is closing rapidly. I say, go ahead and do the reset with the 1.8 release and have nice new biomes filled with new ores.

I accidentally said no, but I do vote for a reset.

I'm still undecided myself. On one hand, a fresh start would be fun, and the new resources and craftables would be great to have; I might like to try developing a new area. On the other hand, I put many hours into the castle I have on the current server and was really hoping to get the chance to add some banners to it once they were implemented. I'd probably build a new one on the new server, but the one I have now took a lot of time and effort to build already.
On a mutant third hand, the update hits the same day that I start going to school full-time, and my course load is such that I likely won't be doing any gaming until Christmastime, so I don't know how much my vote should matter.

I think most people are pretty much in a mode where they're not really doing all that much and just waiting for a reset anyway; let's do it.

I vote yes, with an added request to add tekkit/some other modded server to add variety to choose from.
And so I'm not misunderstood, keep the vanilla one vanilla, and add another modded server

I'm for the reset, but I don't have anything to lose on this map. However, I don't want to get started on an old map that's going to be reset a month down the line.
Unfortunately, I'm going to be out of town the weekend after 1.8 so I'll probably miss the first few days of the new map.

As far as I know Dog runs the current Tekkit server... hopefully he'll be around soon. I know a few people mentioned there may be a chance now that summer is ending, but I'm not really sure. Tekkit would definitely be fun, but don't they lag a bit behind MC updates anyway?Jonathin wrote:I vote yes, with an added request to add tekkit/some other modded server to add variety to choose from.
