Have we been looted?

Me and Moonray were playing on the vanilla minecraft server right after I got white-listed a couple weeks ago, and we moved into an NPC village.

Coordinates for the village are: X: -844, Y: 64, Z: -902

When we came here there was nothing indicating that someone else had been living here, so we picked a couple houses to live in, we made some beds, chests, crafting tables, furnaces and an animal pen for food. Now it's all gone. All the stuff we kept in our chest, all the animals, even the roof of Moonrays house!

There is now a sign on the village's well that says "Village of KTHOR77", but the sign was not there when we moved in.
Now, I'm not accusing KTHOR77 of anything, but it does look a bit suspicious.

What I want to know now is, have we been looted, or is this just a glitch?

Can you remember the date? Sometimes when the server is restarted several hours of work can be "rolled back." this has happened to several folks in the past (including me).

KTHOR77 was whitelisted on 9/16/12
Sparky062097 was whitelisted on 9/29/12

So whatever happened had to of been fairly recent. I'll talk to KTHOR today and report back.

If you mean the date of this incident, then no, I don't remember. I just found out today, but it could have happened in the time I wasn't playing
so I wouldn't have noticed.

Date of your construction is what I'm curious about, would of had to of been the past week, so even a day of the week would help.

We did everything on the same day I got white-listed, and were only on for a few minutes today.
Other than that, we haven't been on the server.

As I recall, KTHOR77 was talking in the in-game chat about having found and settled in a village a couple weeks ago. So what likely happened was that you set up shop there that day without realizing that he was already there, and he's been continuing development since then. I think he said he built near the village as opposed to in it, but was planning on using the village.

I could be misremembering though; the last few weeks have been overly hectic for me, so what events happened on which day is unclear.

Well I know that there was nothing IN the village when I found it, and I couldn't see anything outside of it.

What are you guys missing? Sounds like you guys got griefed by someone though. I am sure someone can lend some supplies if you are missing anything. I would offer but I am low on supplies myself but I can still give you some items if I have them.

Best suggestion I can come up with is to send in Jaggernaughty or Cpt_Keys to the village with the statement of 'have fun gentlemen'.
No more village = no more problems!
Sure, its not a Tekkit server, but I'm still sure that those two can fabricate some Uranium to play with anyways... right?

As far as I an tell, it was just a big misunderstanding. There is no give us some items.

Yeah, I don't think it it was purposeful griefing. Thor is Flash's nephew and he is in the process of contacting him to get his side of the story.

So I think we've got this all straightened out. Kthor77 and EvilTeddiBear explored the village and left the sign on either the 2nd or 3rd, which would be after Sparky and Moonray were there, but didn't realize someone else had laid claim since there weren't any signs.

This does serve as a good reminder to be careful, make sure no one has settled in an area before you start building. These Minecraft maps are HUGE so there is no reason we can't all find our own perfect spots.
