I was working at the guardian farm last night, making books because my gear is on the 3rd repair.
I came out of the portal- 2 creepers were literally on top of me and one blew up- exploding the sand wall, the floor
took out the portal due to the ocean flooding in, etc. So I went about fixing that.... All the while the fishies were falling.
Then the portal was unlit and I had no iron anywhere... so I went all through this cave system that had been properly
stripped of iron already and finally found some iron. I smelted it and then crafted my flint and steel, went
through the portal and saw over 800 entities in there. I got this crazy impulse to throw a potion.. I couldn't
control it... I didn't know it would cause such havoc.

I have learned my lesson and will never abuse our dear TV5 again (in this way). Pinky Promise!!!!

I just hope the server doesn't keep crashing when those chunks are loaded again. We were screwing around on my server and ended up having that happen with xp floating around. The server kept crashing every minute or so. I had to issue a command that kills entities. An admin would have to get in the area before the server crashes and type something like /kill @e[type=!Player,r=50]. It's case sensitive. It would destroy all non-player entities (loose items, mobs, xp orbs, even item frames) within a 50-block radius.

yeah.. umm.. I think I saw 1600 entities once the fish exploded >.< I was already at level 49 and only made it to 50 before the server went down.. that could be a thing, Marf. I am sure that switching to a looting sword really didn't help the situation. I am going back to my corner now.

I did that to it once before Potioned a pile of 950 or so Guardians, popped entities in to the high 2000s and boy did it go slowly! Everything worked fine again once a bit of it had been absorbed by standing there. Just make sure to lean in to it and suck up as much of the stuff as possible so that even if it does go back down, you've reduced what will be there on restart. Should all be ok in the long run
