TV5 - 2013 Edition

Dog, JD and I just finished setting up the new map seed. It is up and running on TV5 and everyone is welcome to join and get to work! If you notice any issues please post here ASAP.

Feel free to use this thread for any planning or organization moving forward with this map.

As a reminder, please keep any large projects away from spawn and away from other players. There is no reason to crowd together.

anyone know how much ram the server has? I would not mind making a donation of ram if that would help. I got a ton of it just laying around

I think it has 2gigs on windows server 2003 which I believe to be 32bit OS, so the java can only use 1~ gig of ram. Which explains a lot.

I'll be making a new Google map at some point and wanted to make a note about signs. The map will be set to filter "special signs" in order to avoid having thousands of them littering the map.

I'm liking this new map. Can't wait until everything's up and running smoothly! I found abiscuit's place while out wandering today, but I haven't stumbled into anyone else's homes yet.

Has anyone found a taiga or a desert yet? I am in need of pine wood and sand, so if someone is able to point me towards those biomes, especially in the region north of spawn (I'm at 400X, -500Z), I'd appreciate it!

The eVa mountain base is due West from biscuit's place.

As far as desert or snow is concerned, there is a portal in the nether to a desert that Betteh and I found. I'd have to get you the nether coords.

There is snow due West from the eVa base. I can't remember exact distances but it's not that far.

I recently (last night) travelled to a Taiga biome and brought back some Spruce saplings and left some growing at spawn. In the future, I also plan on travelling back there to create an ice tray for people to use.

It was around -700,-700 if anyone wants to find it.
