Paying cash money for a LGA775 MB

Post by bluntspoon » Thu Aug 08, 2013 9:30 pm

I'm looking for a LGA775 MB for my son's computer. Happy to pay $50-60.

I've looked on Amazon and newegg and don't like what they have. I'd rather buy a nicer old/used board.

I need the ability to have a quad core cpu and 4 sticks of ram. Anyone have a decent old board laying around they want to sell me for beer money?

If I could afford to build a new PC, I'd send you mine, bluntspoon! As it is, I need to limp along with mine as long as I can.

Normally, I would suggest checking out Geeks.com, but they shut down that part of their business last week.

*sigh* I would agree with Overcharged, and suggest you check out Amazon (or eBay) and see when a decent board shows up. For a board that old, you have to be very patient, and as I recall, you would need a G33/G41/G45 series to support Core 2 Quad.

Typically I've done this through Hardforums and always had good results. Just figured I'd take a look see here first. I'll have a look at ebay also. Thanks.

edit: well that was easy. Pickup up a GA-EP45-UD3R on Hardforum.

Glad it's working again! It did sound suspiciously mobo related.
