I think if I had to buy a new comp today, I would pick an Intel processor instead of AMD!!!
The new Conroe processors are the best on the market and are cheaper than AMD!!! They outperformed AMD in every benchmark I saw!!!
For the same price, you could have the E6600, which is faster than the 6000+!!!
Another point, why buy 2 8600gt instead of 1 8800GTS or 8800GTX !!! You will have enough power to run any game with only one of these 2 cards and you could, when the price of the 8800gtx will drop, add another one later!!!
Finally, not sure you need a sound card, at least, not this one!!! You already have an integrated sound card in your motherboard, which is a 7.1 (the one that you want to buy is only a 5.1)!!! Some will say that sound is better with an external sound card, which is right... in some case!!! In fact it depend on the quality of the card and at that price, i dont think that is a top of the line sound card!!! Furthermore, integrated sound card are better and better!!! It depend too on the speaker that you use!!! If youre using low quality 2.1 speaker/headphone, you understand that you dont need a 200$ sound card!!! Maybe you can try the integrated sound card and look (or listen ) how well it perform. If you really do not like it, you will always be able to buy later an external sound card!!!

Me and Chiv r building it...the mouse keyboard and monitor had to buy seperatley just like all the other parts...raptor...have some1 who knows what there doing...go to newegg....let that person go to town on whatever he/she would have wanted in there computer...and then decide what you want bassed on what they wish they had

i have a few things to say, dont get a biostar, get an Asus, MSI, or Gigabyte motherboard, get an EVGA, PNY, or BFG Tech video card, and and get a seagate, maxtor, or samsung hard drive, WD = bad

Boooooo Intel, ok that outa the way, get what u want really when it comes to CPU's...... both companies r good (ones just better) and u cant go wrong.
and if u decide to get good speakers, the soundcard is a must. I personally (manys will very) is that the sound card makes a lot of diff. if anything it frees up your MOBO to do other stuff. and u'll probly be sacrificing $$ ir features for the integrated sound. But in the long run just get what u'll enjoy 3 years down the road. just when its time to upgrade to the new standards of the time. ........ my only word of caution is i dunno if 550 watts is enough to run ur vid card/HD/RAM
