Desktop Recommendations?
I'm think about either building or buying a new desktop. But I wan't it to be good quality if I buy it from a company.
Any recommendations?
Also my budget after buying a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Is 600-900 dollars.

You should be able to save some good money by building it yourself.gator wrote:Default starting point to get an idea:

Did someboday say "Candyman" in a mirror three times? I feel myself drawn to this thread...Checkm8 wrote:Oh man, you're gonna entice alizee!! He builds PCs waaayy too much!
Let me take a look at what I can find
----------------------
With that budget, and assuming you have your operating system and software covered, here's my suggestion. It is admittedly based on my own brand preferences and priorities, but I think it would make a good build.
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LE PLUS $150
Processor: i5-3350p $180
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw X 16GB (8x2) DDR3 1600 $120
Hard Drive: WD10EZEX (Caviar Blue, 1TB 64MB Cache SATA3) $65
Video Card: EVGA GTX 660 $205
Power Supply: Corsair CX600 $60
Case: Antec Three Hundred $60
Optical Drive: LG 24x DVD burner $15
-----------------------
Total: $855
Price includes all "instant savings" discounts and promo codes currently available, but does not includes shipping or MIRs.
Shipping is available on this set-up for as low as $10.63.
Mail-in Rebates are available on this set-up for as much as $40.00

Thanks guys for the advice. I just got my build in. Around $700. And built it. I'm using it right now.

Uh we slightly changed from that to RAM and OS. Really this thread is un-activeGizanked wrote:we are talking about real parts and actually purchasing physical items right?

Tips for building your own:
http://www.pcpartpicker.com is great for picking and comparing parts.
I used the advice of those over at http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc for advice on parts and other things. Also, I followed along with Newegg's guides when putting the pieces together, specifically Parts 2 and 3:
Part 1: Parts and Components http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw
Part 2: The Construction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_56kyib-Ls
Part 3: Installing Windows, Updating Drivers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxaVBsXEiok
I built my rig in March of 2012, so there may be some updated videos out there.
