Running about:conflicts turned up a couple of highly-suspicious objects hiding in folders to which I as a user have no direct access. Chrome's help pages even recognized them as common crash-causers. They recommended getting MalwareBytes or similar software to get rid of them, so now I'm letting MB have a look around in the hope that it will weed out whatever's doing this. More updates as they become available, I suppose...Uber! wrote:I have no idea Will. Maybe there might be conflicting software on your computer. Type "about:conflicts" in the address bar and see if it finds anything. Other than that, I got nothing.

Re: Google Chrome instability
Been using Chrome for several years now, never had any problems with it. I think it's a big improvement over Firefox, which is in turn a big improvement over IE. But that's me.

Re: Google Chrome instability
Part of my job requires developing website content, so I always have at least five web browsers (versions of IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera) installed on my computer (custom-built circa 2011, Win7/Ubuntu) for testing purposes. I haven't encountered any consistent crashing behavior recently.

That might be your problem right there. Malwarebytes is a great program. Hopefully it will fix it.Will T. wrote:Running about:conflicts turned up a couple of highly-suspicious objects hiding in folders to which I as a user have no direct access.
