Ok Ville brainiacs, I need some help with a registry fixer/cleaner.
What is the best thing to use to fix any errors I have?

Same. CCleaner for clearing out the garbage, auslogics disc defragger for the defragmenting. I also recommend using filehippo's update checker to keep all your tools up to date.bz wrote:I've always run CCleaner. It's a great multi-purpose tool, and it's never caused me trouble.

Yeah, I paid for this program and have been using it for awhile. It works well.bz wrote:I've always run CCleaner. It's a great multi-purpose tool, and it's never caused me trouble.
My OS professor told me that if your file system is NTFS then defragmenting is not needed. I forget the rationale but he said that it was not necessary to defragment that type of file system. The Domer wrote: CCleaner for clearing out the garbage, auslogics disc defragger for the defragmenting.

It isn't necessary, but defragmenting can improve disk performance by a small amount. As computers are beginning to move away from disks and towards solid state, I suppose it will all be a moot point soon.Checkm8 wrote:I forget the rationale but he said that it was not necessary to defragment that type of file system.
As a side note, I've seen a horribly fragmented NTFS drive perk right up after a running a custom JKDefrag script. Don't ask me how it got in such a sorry state.

I have bad luck with technological items like PC's, Smart phones, and calculators.
Hell I've had my LG Thrill for about a week, and couldn't figure out why I couldn't make a call, my 13 yr old boy looked at it and informed me that I was in airplane mode. I didn't even know that sorta thing existed till he said so.
