Tier 1: Chrome Shotgun

Tier 2: Combat Shotgun (combat rifle is a close second though)

Sidearm: Duel Pistols (I'll go for a melee if I decide to roll with an non-shotgun weapon though)

Granade: Pipe Bomb

I wouldn't be too reliant of that site. It says "Normal Melee Weapons do 400 damage, and instantly kill common infected. The axe and katana are capable of decapitating a witch. It takes ten melee hits to kill a tank."
I was doing some testing earlier today on expert vs the tank. I turned god on and killed my allies. It took 14 hits with machete and batoon to kill a tank, it took 12 hits with guitar. Also, if you dont hit a common right on with melee weapons it will knock them back instead of killing them. All melee weapons have different styles.

I hate all tier 2 weapons because people will go get their team killed trying to get one

Of course, the big event toward the end of second stage Parish lends itself to rifles more than the shotguns in my opinion, other stages might change my mind!

I always liked the Hunting Rifle in L4D, and the Military Rifle so much nicer. The bigger clip is a big difference, though it does tend to chew through ammo quicker that way.

I haven't had a chance to use all of the weapons yet, either that or I haven't noticed a difference. Either way I'm a fan of the machine guns on both tiers except for the AK-47.

I just love the rifles for their penetration ability. They've got a small clip but one bullet can tear through several Infected. I don't know if this ability is weakened to account for the larger clip of the Military Rifle, but I hope not.

You can actually you melee effectively if you use a rifle as your primary.

What you do is you use your rifle to pick off most of the infected and when there are only a few you melee them before they can hit you. Easy way to save ammo and kill infected groups quickly. It should be easier with the Kantana/Axe since they have a wider swing to kill more infected.

Also I'm starting to like the Magnum/Deagle. It's a very good secondary to a shotgun.
