Gamemode Suggestions?

Post here if you know of any custom gamemodes for Garry's Mod that they would like to see on our server. Sandbox is probably getting old by now, so a change might be good.

I had a poll here recently for SpaceBuild only to find that it was no longer maintained and updated to work. :( Anyway, if you see any other game modes that interest you over at garrysmod.org then post here. :)

Rather than simply adding game modes, could we change the Sandbox settings? At present, it seems obnoxiously restrictive. I'd enjoy playing on TV11 a lot more if:

1. Physics props could damage players (even if it was just one's own props, that would be fine)
2. A small number of NPCs could be spawned
3. More than just Botmap_V2 was used

At present, TV11 is not very fun to play alone on, and if you can't get one person on it, you can't get two and so on.

1. Godmode is on to prevent griefing and accidental deaths while building
2. NPCs increase server load and cause some client and server crashes
3. Botmap seems to be a good map since it has so many different areas and features. What other map would you suggest?

I'd suggest some larger version of gm_construct. There's plenty of them out there.

The main problem I have with botmap is that I always get stuck on the tracks, especially the curves and elevator, and when I accidentally noclip myself into the death room, Godmode prevents me from easily exiting it. Either way, I end up using the kill command frequently, and it's annoying.

Speaking of Godmode, how can there be griefing with nobody around? Lastly, accidental deaths are usually amusing. (clearly, I am not particularly concerned about staying alive in Gmod).

If push comes to shove, you can always brace yourself by hiding and eating a ton of bouncy balls.

Ok I turned godmode off. It was a problem when people played on the server.

And getting stuck is a server problem that can't be fixed on Linux. Other maps will do the same thing unfortunately.

Mmm... It may very well be a server problem, but it's localized to certain entities on botmap. Like I said, once the enormous func_door or whatever it is that rises out of the tunnel, if you're on it or were at one time on it, you may experience difficulty moving until you ~kill yourself.

It happens on all brush-based entities. So any complex maps will have spots like that. You can get out of it by spawning a vehicle or hoverboard and riding it away, or forcing a prop into yourself so it pushes you up.
