Just saw this rumor over at CS Nation:

I can see where it might need some updating to ease the porting to Mac.

My guess is that this is like the DoD:S update - they're switching to the Orange Box engine.

Both filled in seconds.
Reserved slots will not be working until we get SM working properly

Nope, no luck. I guess if the slots filled in seconds, the available beta slots went just as fast

Features new to the beta:
144 achievements added
New lifetime player stats and summary screens
New match player stats and summary screens
New end of round display with MVP and interesting fact about a player
Updated scoreboard with new icons, visual style, MVP stars, and avatar pictures
New cinematic death camera
New domination and revenge system
Added avatar icons to voice chat, scoreboard, and end of round display
Incorporated many source engine updates
OK, that's just a bunch of stuff from TF2 that Counter-Strike didn't even need.
