TV1 Returns to DoD Source

This morning Merf and I changed TV1 back to DoD Source and added Realism Mod version 1.3.3. We hope this will excite our current Villuns and draw new players to The Ville looking for alternative types of game play. The mod developer has different version levels so if we decide a feature doesn't work we can remove it. Thanks to ljfsp over at matti.info for the mod.

Here are some of the added features:

Fade to Black
Blood splats on screen as you die.
All classes spawn with pistols, for rocket they must use fast switch and a wheel.
Extra blood that squrits out when shot.
When shot in the arm, you will drop your primary weapon.
Message telling everyone who got a head shot.
When being shot, your aim is thrown off and some blood squirts on the screen.
Medic mod is also included. When below 20 hp you can banage yourself.
Also new sound of you wraping yourself is included.
Spawn protection : Set the amount of time for spawn protection, also set the health to goto after protection is off.
Time to win round is also included.
Weighted classes, The Mg and Rocket class have been set to be more realistic. They can not run nor jump as high do to thier equipment.
Also included with permision from Einlanzers I have included is mod that will have you bleed when health is below 20 hp.

Now I just need to figure out how to bandage myself. I also like the having the zook class slower.

Seems like no one is downloading the model/skin/graphic for the extra blood. IT is just purple checkered boxes that come out.

And does anyone know how to bandage... we were not able to figure it out, yet.

Oooooppps! I forgot to put the sound, model, etc on the fast download server. Going to restart the server. Will you try again later? Let us know.

I checked it out and it is a nice addition. It definitely changes the gameplay and adds some variety. Everything seemed to be working great. :D

I think there should be some kind of TK protection added also. I got TKed a few times in spawn, so that would be a nice addition.

Also, I don't think the votes are showing up for some reason. :?

I just played a bit. Pretty nifty, can't wait till we get a full server! We need to raise awarness somehow, get more people to show up. We had a source server full before, we can do it again. :wink:

Ya..

The last valve update broke all the visual menus. This includes voting and TK menus. So for now I disabled FF and also voting until the mod devs get a work around.

ok, right on Silver. I like the voting think it would be good to have that when it's avail.


And after playing with the realism mod for a weeks now, I would say it's a nice twist. Takes some of the preasure off the map to create a real feel.

Me n Squirrel were tryin to make the gun get knocked out my hand. It would only happen when I got pelted by a barage of smg or mg bullets. He tried shooting my arm and the gun at point blank and nothing happened (except for death/damage). We pretty much used everything from pistol to rifle. Does it only happen when you're under 20hp or something?

idk... but when i played a lil bit there were some things i didn't like about it... like the fact that it made the k98 bassically useless in any gunfight

Actually the most irritating but also fun thing is the way your aim goes completely off when you're badly injured!
