VALVe update broke many things.
Will get all the servers back up asap.

TV9 is not updated, so you can still play if you never leave :lol:

So of the 4 L4DOD servers that are normally up I see two. Does that mean that steam/valve screwed things up royally again?

And I see that they are patching cheat holes. I applaud that but what about the other bugs in the game. Are they ever going to address those. If not do you think they will every open it up enough so people like Dog can make the fixes if he chooses.

And by the statement "...so you can still play if you never leave" does that mean if you did update your client you are out in the cold and unable to play?

But of course we shall wait. Real life always comes first! I really must commend you, Dog. This is an outstanding piece of work you have done. But please don't overwork yourself. Everything in moderation. If something should happen to you L4DOD would fall by the wayside. Then our enjoyment factor would go way down. Selfish I know. But that is how it is.

Well, I was needing my fix, so I went and played a regular DOD server.

I would like to report that my hours and hours and HOURS of playing L4DOD has improved my DOD skillz. LOL.

But it was boring. Running around trying to find someone to shoot at was el sucko grande. So I decided to camp.

That was very amusing. They were coming to me, and I was loving it. Pretty soon, they got their guts up and came at me with three different guys from two different directions.

Oddly, that's the only way the zombies ever get me. :)

I think that a team of L4DOD players could go a pretty good number on the regular DOD servers. When I first came back to DOD after having not played it for a long time, I really sucked - K:D in the 0.1 - 0.25 region. Totally pwnt from start to finish. Now I can actually finish a map in the upper third of players in regular DOD. Thanks, Dog - your mod has made me a better gamer!!!

I agree with Rico. Today I was really surprised at how accurate I was and how fast my reaction time was compared to many years before. It does take some getting used to, especially since I usually play zombies. However, i still find it hilarious that after I kill an enemy I quickly dash to his corpse hoping for ammo or a shield pick up.

Thanks Dog for all your hard work! Been hooked ever since the first game!! Much prefer it over regular DoD. Helps get your "focus" on. Keep up the good work!!

OK. 3/4 are up.
The Australian server is run by a company that hates its users uploading their own extensions, so that server will probably end this month and I'll look for a better hosting company.

Brief explanation of the issues.

When VALVe updated TF2 and the other Orange Box games (DoDS/CSS), they added a bunch of code meaning that the places that we modders hook into, had shifted.
Fortunately, Psychonic over on AlliedModders was quick to get the places for the hooks listed again.

But Left4DoD uses a Fast Respawn extension by Andersso. He has not updated his DoDHooks extension and that was the delay. So I rewrote that part of the plugin to respawn the Zombies using my own code. It may be icky for a while until I can get it working nicely.

Also changed are the Collisions.
The new SDKHooks extension has a different way of doing collisions which I had to figure out with no documentation. So they might be funny for a while. At one point bots were colliding with each other.

Also changed is Damage.
Keep me informed of any issues.
