I did a search of the forums and didn't see anything related to the subject. When I first start the game and connect it takes an unusually long period of time to finally get the game to totally connect. I spend a long time at retrieving server information. Sometimes up to 5 minutes. It does this when switching maps also. I was wondering if by adding entries to the local host file if it would speed it up some. I was thinking of adding the vac servers also. I know this worked wonders pre-vac days. Can't remember what the anti-cheat systems was called in DOD 3.0 and 3.1.
Something along the lines below
TheVille.Org IX - Left4DoD Zombies 66.240.202.11:27025
TheVille.Org X - Left4DoD Zombies - Survival 69.162.99.28:27016
TheVille.Org XV - Left4DoD Zombies - Coop 69.162.99.28:27015
TheVille.Org XI - Left4DoD Zombies (AUS) 203.217.24.60:27015
I would have to find the VAC servers info. But you get the drift.
Connection and load time improvements?

Thank you Dr. Bob. It is not a showstopper more of an annoyance. I guess I am impatient. Just wondering if there was someway I could improve the overall performance of the game.

Not much we can do at server side since it loads fine for me and others.
You're not downloading stuff, so it might be your ISP...who knows.
Or it might be your locale in Steam, set to another country.
