New Southern Hemisphere server

Finally, a Left4Dod server in the antipodes! Been playin' this mod since Dog 1st put a server up way back and even tried to convince him then that it would be a good thing for Australasia to enjoy a lower ping by putting up a server down under. I even volunteered to run it on my server at the time "B!ggles's Battleground", which enjoyed favour from the down under DoDs community. However Dog saw fit to hold on to the mod and good on him, no one should or can complain about that.

My point? I've been waiting a long time for this server..let's not stuff it up by trying to run it like it's ours or yours or whatever. It isn't, it's the Villes. Their server, their rules - let's just get on and play the game. In my opinion Dog has saved DoDs with this mod - I'd hate to see it go the way of lots of other servers.

Thanks Dog for writing the mod, and thanks "The Ville" for putting up the server so we can all enjoy the game.

P.S. any chance of a co-op server?

Just reporting; as of last night (Aus time) the bug of zombie bots not coming out of spawn in the opening round is still happening. We need to cap out or kill bots in spawn before they come out.

Ahoy there,

the server crashed at 2140 EST Sydney, it was a tad laggy before it crashed.
Apparently someones singing may have caused this..........

Server was back up after five mins, still suffered from some lag spikes seems but otherwise fine.

Due to the hosting company being a pain in the bum when it came to updating files and extensions AND the low server population of recent months (interest has waned in Australia and New Zealand), I have moved the server to a new IP:

66.55.131.138:27015

The server is with Gameservers, with whom we've had a long and happy relationship over the years. They let us do pretty much what we want to the servers.
The 'other company' did not. Unfortunately there are no Aussie/NZ IPs avaliable with Gameservers at the moment.

My apologies to our Antipodean friends and hopefully the extra ping will not be too painful.

im out at work in 15 mins till about 11, if its empty then i'll jump on and invite everyone i can, see if it will take a jump start. i know its a little late for a uk server but i cant do it now
