download & install left4dod (help needed!)

hya guys!
i need some starting tips with dod & left4dod! just a few weeks ago dod is finally available for mac users just like me and im still exited about playing it (because its ages ago since i played it... and i think it was the first online multipl. game ive played!) i saw some nice video showing the left4dod mod, and i´m a big fan of all zombie stuff so i wanted to join one of the ville servers but i cant autodownload the files :c i´ve checked the gamesetting but with no result :/ so i searched for the files at google but i didnt found something. so my questions:

where do i find the source files for this mod? and how is the setup for it?

The files needed for the DOD:S client (maps/models/audio/etc) should download automatically when you attempt to join one of the Ville's L4DOD servers. I just tried it on my Mac and didn't encounter any issues with the autodownload.

Is there a specific error or timeout that you're encountering?

it just nothing happens (or i cant see the white progress bar). for example when i connect to a server with custom stuff, download is working, but not on any ville servers with that zombie mod :c is there some point i dont see what has to be switched on, or some configuration that i have missed. when i connet to a server i looks like that:

and i have not a bad internet connection at all. arrr...

That might make the initial download take a bit longer. Be patient and give the client files some time to download, maybe 5-10 minutes. You should at least see progress with the downloading during that timeframe.

but isnt there any http download available? i checkt my inet-connection, downl. is: 2.251 kByte/s / upload 303 kByte/s. damn after 30 min there are just 2 white progres bars -.-, but thanks first for you fast reply!
