7 years ago the Ville lost a good Villun in Blue Ruler, he was a kind and gentle person who valued fun and friendship. Blue Ruler made playing at the Ville so much fun, I hope your listing Blue, we still miss ya !

We lost Blue on May 18th, 2004 and it still feels like it was only a few days ago.

I shall don the -RBR- Tag again in honor of Blue Ruler, please feel free in joining me.

I too shall honor the man.
Though I wished I could have played at least one round with him.

Everyone in this community who had the honor to play with Blue Ruler has said nothing but nice things about him. It's a shame to see somebody so well liked be taken away from us, I really wish I was able to play some games with him.

RIP Blue Ruler

You know Blue Ruler had to be a great guy when someone as nice as JD speaks so highly of him.

i remember the very spot and activity when i found out...I was in the parking lot at the store i was working at in alexandria on my lunch eating canned tamales when my (at the time gf (kahlen)) called me to tell me...

...It haunted me even more since I in poor taste made a joke on the USV forums... Blue hadnt shown up for a few days and it was wondered where he was...and I said "Oh no! maybe his old age has caught up with him"

Ouch Keyes, its things like that, intended in jest that as you said can haunt you for years.

I too remember when I found out, his grandson joined the forums and posted that he had passed away, Roofcutter and I didnt believe it so Roof called Blue Rulers and spoke with his family and confirmed that it was true. It was like getting kicked in the stomach.

My only regret now is that I didnt personally save a copy of his obituary and his funeral program. Nanners had them hosted but those disappeared years ago.
