Very shortly the anniversary of Blue Rulers passing will be upon us, On Monday the 18th it will be 5 years since Blue Ruler was taken from us and his family. He was 52 and far too young to go.

I am planning on a Blue Ruler tribute night on the DOD server on Monday the 18th at 7PM Ville time, we can get together and play Blues favorite Valve game just like the old days when Blue was still among us.

New Villans who didnt know Blue Ruler are welcome to attend as well as the old timers that played with Blue, we do this as a tribute to Blue Ruler and also to Trigger Happy who too was taken from us far too early.

So come on out and play some good old fashioned Day of Defeat in memory of those that the Ville has lost.

I will post more details once I have them and we will also have a front page post shortly.

GGs Blue and Trigger we shall always remember you at the Ville.

On a further note I invite you to add the -RBR- Tag to your in game name, it means Remember Blue Ruler.

Also if you want to shed a few tears visit the old archives and read a little about Blue.

If anyone has saved copies of the Funeral Program and other information that Nanite had created I would appreciate getting it and posting it here.

Blue Ruler had a heart attack while driving home, he crashed his truck and that pretty much was it. :(

Blue was a founding father of the place you see before you.

He suffered a heart attack.

Its just unfortunate I didn't get to know him.

every year that passes, it always sounds like it couldn't have possibly been that long ago. Its still amazing how attached we can get to people we don't even know.

I wish I could have been here and meet Blue Ruler and Trigger they have sounded like very Fine people and community members.
Like many that have fallen from the ranks of the gaming community they will all be remembered and my heart goes out to them and to all there Friends and Families.

I will try to make it. I'll always remember Blue as being a guy that never took the games too serious and always had a good time with it. He didn't seem to mind when I whacked him with my trusty garand butt either

I think what stood out most is that Blue Ruler never forgot how it felt to be a "noob". That we all were "noobs" once. He was the first to come along side and help some one learn and not be discouraged. Here is to my friend Blue who I miss very much -- :[beermug emoticon] Cheers.

Can anyone unearth Blue Ruler's last post. It would be a nice thing to have here. His first post would be good, too.

Blue joined the forums in Aug 2001. At one point, we lost a lot of posts do to website crash/shennanigans. I believe that may have happened between his join date and his first available post, too long ago to recall.

Humble, humorous, open and always willing to help, that was Blue. Though they can not begin to touch on his personality, both of those posts do offer slight reflections of what kind of person he was.

Through our time shared together in <TVB> and later in =USV=, Blue was always my pal. Many nights spent chatting with each other about Ville life and real life. Of the countless people I have met here over the last decade, Blue remains right up top with Sully for me. Some people are just 100% likeable. Blue was the real deal, he was a wonderful person and I still feel awkward talking about him in the past tense. I am better for knowing Soren.
