Robin Walker on the modding community

Post by Zork Nemesis » Fri Jan 11, 2013 6:33 pm

PC Gamer got an interview with Robin Walker concerning the game's substantial mod community. It's a pretty good read and it also gives a decent amount of insight into what it actually takes to have a submitted item put into the game, both in terms of how quality your items are and what it takes to fully implement it on their end. It's a pretty good read:

A couple of things stick out to me, first this quote: "The Mann Co store has now earned more than TF2 did via direct sales"

There's also a bit talking about how they're moving the submission tool from DotA 2 to TF2 to help speed up things which tells me that we'll see more community content at once in the near future. This one is supplemented by a comment about how a Dota modder managed to get 170 items ready to go in just two days.

This is hard to be cool and suave while being informative at the same time. Goddamn my coolness.
In my experience, common sense isn't too common.
