Well, I'm able to play almost ten minutes before crashing. From what I've been able to play, its the most awesomenest multiplayer game ever.

I feel for ya Mujo... I seem to always get lucky with steam. Its really annoying to have it updating all the time but its worked pretty good for me.

Im sure youve thought of this but, maybe you need to opt out of the steam community thing?

Oh and heres another thing to test. Do you get the looping crash when you play a source single player game? or is it only on multiplayer games?

also have you ever changed your heap size?

We are no longer able to "opt" out of the steam community, it is now a permanent part of STEAM. That is why I'm raising such a hissy fit.

Its only on multiplayer games when the steam community is activated ingame,(this is the only time I crash) hence why its only in TF2. The other games (CS:S, DOD:S) allow you to disable the steam community ingame. TF2 does not.

What's this "heap size"? I have no idea :(

I think the "heap size" thing is a filter which sets parameters for your upload/download rates to optimize your comp's performance.

If I got that right, I want a cookie.

I had the same problem this morning. Crashed after a couple of minutes.
This is what I did to cure it:

1. Installed latest video drivers.

2. Removed HDR from Video>Advanced

3. Added -console -novid -heapsize 1000000 to TF2 launch options

Heapsize should be HALF of your overall RAM. For example if you have 1Gb RAM, set heapsize to 512000.

The STEAM community thing is fine now....

So, heapsize tells the game or server how much RAM you have?

I tried the game, and it's pretty awesome. I tried Pyro and Engineer. :D

I haven't had any problems so far. What video card do you have, Mujo? :?

I think the heapsize sets the amount of memory available to the game.

If mujo's not having problems with DoD:S or CS:S, I think the likely candidate is the steaming pile of bullhaka. To that end, I don't know except notify valve, and pray for a patch.

Sucks for mujo, though. My deepest sympathies, brother.

Don't forget this is a different engine from original Source. The new Source2 engine may show problems in the system. Try those tweaks Muj, and get those drivers updated.

What card do you have? I have an ATI and it was running Catalyst 7.7 with no issues in DoDS.....the latest drivers came out last week ...7.9 and fixed it.

all my drivers are NEW AND UPDATED!!!!

Tried those tweaks, and I got the "tab key of doom" crash that everyone on the forums is having. (pressing tab crashes to desktop, however, it doesnt give a total system crash like the usual I've been having._)
