Half Life

So, I'm just getting around to playing the Half Life games (don't hurt me) and I was wondering everyone's opinions on them.

Anything most people miss that I should try to keep an eye out for?

Also, HL or HL:Source? Is there much of a difference?

Original HL isn't much different from the Source version, except that enemies ragdoll in Source and you can access the content from HL Source in Garry's Mod. Between the two, I don't know that either is really better than the other. For what it's worth, I haven't found myself playing original HL at all since getting Source (although I don't play much of either since both give me motion sickness :/).
