just jump in a game. there's no real playing going on. hitbox and hit registration is messed up for the moment.

or just start up a LAN and try it there. cheats 1 in console will start the game.

they needed another engine for a bunch of stuff that will be implemented later that the source engine couldn't handle. it was easier to make a new engine from scratch then trying to implement/rewrite parts of the source engine. keep in mind they're doing everything themselves with only a handful of ...
