Re: Google-Maps-esque Daytime Render
Very nice Stevo. Does this re-render every so often? I'm not sure which script you ended up using, but a few of them have a "noise" option which makes it look more "realistic" (and less like the game). I personally don't prefer it, and the couple renders I did of my (tiny) 1P map...

Day9 Funday Monday (SC2)
For those of you who play Starcraft, or hell, think it's vaguely interesting, you need to check out Day9. Ordinarily he "teaches you how to be a better player", but not on Mondays. Mondays are Fundays, where we do crazy things to "mess with the metagame that is the ladder" by imp...

Re: Building On the Roof of the Last Point On Warpath
The best change from warpath to warpath2 are spawn doors that lock once you don't have control of the proper point. Ladders are kinda nice too, but I think they're bad form.

Re: Team Stacking Rant
You're all wrong, the way to find out if there's an admin on is start doing George Carlin's "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television" monologue. If they're there, messages start appearing on your screen. In any case, whenever I've seen admins on TV8 with teams getting rolled, I seldom ...

Re: Cell Phones
I used to think the smartphone concept was stupid (I used a prepaid phone that cost me $8/mo), then work gave me a smartphone that I've probably used too much. When I go unemployed I'll probably go through withdrawl. As far as carriers go: - Verizon if you want it to work wherever - AT&T if you ...

Re: Building On the Roof of the Last Point On Warpath
I'm not 100% sure now; I was dicking around in TV8 while it was 3v3 and some engy on my team hopped up there and said it wouldn't allow him to build a teleporter exit. I assumed a sentry wouldn't work either. However, it seems like Hades has seen it done before, but only on other servers? Could it b...

Re: Star-Craft 2 Guest Passes
I just have bad memories from WC3 online play where half the time my hero would die on the first encounter with the other player. With it too far behind in level, it was totally ineffective in later encounters. Some Bnet opponents seemed able to get their hero to 6 with 5 minutes. I wonder if the us...

Re: Team Stacking Rant
Are there any fancy server mods that can check for maybe two consecutive rounds if it was a 5-0 blowout or <60-90 second roll?
Most of the time, I don't think bad teams start off without medics, I think medics switch class/leave bad teams because they get frustrated by a total lack of protection.

Re: Star-Craft 2 Guest Passes
Anyone have another? I'm kinda on-the-fence about the game. From what I hear the single-player campaign is pretty long compared to others, but still finite, and the whole point of this is multiplayer. However, I'm not Korean so I can't micro 12 units at once, so I'm thinking I'd get rolled over and ...

Generation Kill
Has anyone seen Generation Kill, the HBO miniseries ? (or read the book) Curious of others' thoughts on it, and if you haven't seen it, I suggest grabbing them from library/netflix/interwebs/etc. A trailer to pique your curiosity. A few I've talked to seem to think it's anti-war, but I think it trie...

Re: Which has a higher melting point
Melting points really only apply to homogeneous compounds, not living, very inhomogenous things like corn/bone. What's more, in most cases some of the organic compounds don't melt (change physically) but decompose (change chemically) before they ever melt. "Corn" flatware is typically made...

Re: Building On the Roof of the Last Point On Warpath
The point he meant to make is that you are unable to build items up there due to whatever map parameters exclude it. Nothing to do with some TF2 bushido.
